He completed his postgraduate doctoral studies at Palmer Chiropractic College in Iowa, and has been a practicing chiropractor in Colorado Springs since 1986.

Dr. Byers was inspired to become a chiropractor during his recovery from a sports injury. Over the years, he has helped many people deal with injury and pain, and realized the potential for helping people go beyond crisis management to a greater well being. He has immersed himself in the study of wellness, and created a practice dedicated to supporting wellness and to increasing the quality of life of the patients he sees.

There are many techniques for adjusting the spine and extremities, and not every technique is just the right fit for every patient, so in order to provide the right care for each patient, methods used by Dr. Byers include activator, Gonstead, Palmer package, Thompson drop, S.O.T., Diversified, and Flexion-distraction. Additional therapies offered through Byers Family Chiropractic include acupuncture, massage therapy, physiotherapy, and decompression therapy.
